Contract employees – The wave of the future

We've known in the SAS world that contract employees were the coming wave. It is beneficial for the employer and not such a bad situation for the contractor.

Here is a great article from the consumer adviser, Clark Howard on the coming growth of contract employees.

As this trend grows, it is our goal to become better positioned to serve the demand for SAS and Analytic contractors.

Modeling and scoring

As our list of customers increase, we are seeing a diverse need for analytics. However, the methods employed are similar across industries and objectives.

One of our most popular services in modeling and scoring. Whether the methods are used in marketing, pharma, or research, it is the same.

Most recently we've helped a midsized  company spend their marketing dollars more efficiently. Identifying customers that are similar to an organizations best customers. Once identified, the company focuses marketing dollars on potential and existing customers that exhibit those same qualities.

Give the return on investment, this is a no-brainer. It's cost effective and good for business. If you are in any of the industries listed above and could benefit from modeling and scoring, please give us the opportunity to provide value.

Remote SAS jobs / Telecommuting

This is by far the most sought after benefit to working. Stay and home and get the job done. This is how we have attracted some of our most precious talent here at AFHood Analytics Group.

Our strategy is to employ the smartest group of consultants available. We use technology to closely monitor progress on projects. We understand that you might come up with your best ideas in the shower and therefore you can solve that modeling algorithm while singing with your rubber ducky. That's ok with us.

We monitor our consultants on devliverables and not time at the computer desk. As a consultant, you enjoy a great deal of freedom as well as strict deadlines and communication requirements.

As a customer, we guarantee the highest quality of work delivered ON TIME. Let us show you how well our business strategy can work for you.

SAS Certified Professionals

In recent weeks, it has come to our attention that utilizing SAS Certified programmers and analysts is increasingly important to our customers. Certification is the starting point for finding excellent programmers. Not that every programmer or analyst that is certified is a "rock star" SAS guru, but it demonstrates a seriousness around their job and skills.

All of our professionals in our Advance Analytics consulting group are at least Base SAS Certified. We encourage all of our contractors in our On-Demand SAS Talent group to become certified as well ( which many of them are ).

If you are in need of SAS programming assistance from a seasoned group of programmers, please contact us at Blog@AFHood.com or call our offices at the number listed on our homepage ( www.AFHood.com ).

Additionally, if you are looking to add programmers to your team permanently or on a contract basis, please reach out to us and help us find the right SAS professional for your situation.

Welcome and Salutations!

As the title says, welcome and salutations. First, I appreciate that you are taking the time to read this. Second, since you are investing time in reading my content, it is only fair that I use this outlet wisely and to everyone's benefit.

The objective of this blog will be to shed light on SAS, SAS functions and processes and general business intelligence themes.

I suppose you are asking yourself, "who is this guy anyway?"

My answer, just a regular guy. My name is Mr. Hood and I the managing owner of AFHood Analytics Group (AAG). We have two primary business units:

  • Analytics / SAS consulting and programming
  • Provider of  analytic / SAS talent to organizations for contract, full-time and part-time basis

In regards to the consulting and programming side, we have a robust client list. We have worked with some of the best in class (and the worst). We work on adhoc projects and some very large engagements. We have the staff to get the answers you need.

In regards to providing talent, we were thrust into the business by a client of ours. We found that we could easily leverage our databases of SAS programmers / analysts from around the world and put the right people in the right positions. We were happy, our clients are happy and the analyst are thrilled.

So that is AAG, but more specifically, who am I. Throughout the current decade, I have spent my time working with many companies on various business intelligence projects. The majority of my background resides in the marketing and sales analytics field. Even more granular, I have spent a considerable amount of time working in loyalty marketing. Most of my analytic focus resides around marketing effectiveness and targeting. I have done my time with startup organizations from the dot-com boom, large multi-national organizations where everyone has a dotted line reporting structure as well as a boss and many in between.  I describe myself as an analytics professional. I strive to learn everything, try anything, and provide the best framework for good decision making.

In conclusion, welcome!
